Specialities

You pick one speciality when you create your player, and it follows you for the whole career. It speeds up some training, slows down other, tilts your position ratings and changes how the match engine uses you.

The ten archetypes

  • QuickFlies down the flank, wins races and dribbles. Weaker in central duels and in the air.
  • TechnicalKeeps the ball in tight spaces and creates chances. Less of a physical presence.
  • PowerfulWins duels and headers, holds the ball up. Not the fastest over the ground.
  • Team playerSteady in every role, better key passing, no glaring weakness — and no extreme strength.
  • UnpredictableMoments of magic and moments of madness. High reward, high variance.
  • ClinicalTakes more shots and converts more of them. Contributes less outside the box.
  • Header specialistDominant on corners and crosses at both ends. Needs service to shine.
  • LeaderLifts the whole team's composure in decisive moments. Modest personal numbers.
  • WorkhorseRuns all 90 minutes, tackles constantly. Trades flair for endurance.
  • ReflexesA goalkeeping speciality — sharper shot stopping between the posts.

Finding the perfect combination

A speciality is only as good as the attributes and position around it. A header specialist wants crossing team-mates and aerial duels; a quick player belongs wide, where pace and crossing decide games; a leader is worth most in a side that reaches penalty shootouts. Part of the game is hunting for the combination nobody else has found yet.
